Little common tournament
the team did us proud this saturday we lost only one match in our group, no other team beat the one that beat us and we managed to get through to the semi finals, in the semi we came up against a very physical ratton rangers team who pulled down one of our players in the penalty box giving us a penalty (heavily disputed by their parents) Alexander stepped up to take the penalty and calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net. we went on to defend well and get through to the final, only to meet the team from Pevensy and Westham who were the only one to beat us earlier in the day, the boys played their hearts out and despite a valiant effort came runners up as we went a goal down from a excellent Pevensy attack, For me as manager / coach the best bit of the day was how the boys played with dignity, even to the point of them standing at the end of the final not dejected but with happy smiling faces clapping the opposition on their win, to me boys how you held yourselves through the tournament You were the winners, you showed great discipline and strength of character.
Robert Cauvain - human dynamo, work rate was extraordinary, roberts man marking is second to none and the teams with a obvious danger man robert marked him totally out of the game, well done
William Pollard - worked well up front and scored a cracker by lobbing the keeper well done
Jazz Hargreave - played with great strength and scored his first for Sedlescombe well done
Matthew Sturgeon - great well timed challenges, and extraordinarily long throw ins well done
Alexander Morley - some very solid tackles and clearances, penalty scorer and nearly scored from free kick - well done
Mikey Morgan - the teams goal thief, did his usual right place right time, scoring vital goals and putting in some timely challenges showing some great skills
Jake " the hands" Thomas - worked his socks off, pulled off some excellent saves and calmly kicked out the passbacks to the keeper, much better distribution of the ball from goal kicks and created at least one of the goals from his goal kick
Well done Boys both I and your parents are very proud
