1) Sedlescombe Rangers Tournament (Sunday 18 July 2010). Don't be too disappointed. The results might not have gone our way (Whites), but as a team we played some decent football against some very good sides. We can work on this with our 'new' team (who although not progressing themselves played well in the other Group.
2) TRAINING will continue to be held every Thursday (unless otherwise stated) between 18.00 - 19.15 ish (Please note that training may overrun a little), at the 'Helipad' playing field at Ingleside, off Queensway, St Leonards on Sea. Please ensure that your son is there promptly so that we can take as much advantage of the time as possible. Dean/Steve will be taking the training. Football boots/shin pads, a water bottle and a training ball (if you still have one) will be required; as will a waterproof if the weather is unsettled
3) CROWBOROUGH LEAGUE. One of the requirements of joining this league is that each player should have an ID Registration Card. As part of the registration application parents will need to submit a current photograph (one only) of their son. This should not be more than 2 months old, and the image (face) must be large enough to be clearly seen. Ideally a British passport photograph should be used. However, 'homemade' photos can be accepted provided that they are of a good quality and comply with the standard required, namely that they are of passport size (35mm x 45mm), the face of the player can be seen, and that the player is facing forwards and looking straight into the camera. I would be grateful if you could let me (Barry) have a photograph of your son that meets the above requirements ASAP. Proof of age is also required so you will need to provide a copy of your son's Birth Certificate when completing/returning the Registration Form.
REMINDER: The Whites are entered for the Eastbourne Town Football Club Tournament (six-a-side). This will be held on Saturday 3 July 2010 at Hampden Park, Kings Drive Eastbourne.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Rother 2009/10 Presentation Evening on Monday (14 June 2010). It was great to see the boys pick up individual trophies as well as the main trophy (albeit the 'wrong one' and which we await to be changed) for winning the U10 Blue Division of the Rother League. A proud moment for the boys/parents as well as the managers and coaches.
I (Barry) would also like to say a personal thankyou to the boys/parents for the lovely photograph of the 'winning' team (and on which I note Shaun has grown several feet in height!) and the bottle of wine.
Hope you all a had a fun afternoon at the Hastings Town Presentation Day. The games against Hastings Town Blue were good humoured and full of entertaining football. For those that follow the statistics we won the first game (2-1) and drew the second (2-2). A special thanks to our 'stand-in' goal keeper, Ryan Michie.
Hope everyone had a great time at the Sedlecombe Presentation day! I would like to say not only congratulations to those boys who won an individual trophy but would also like to thank the whole team for their passion, commitment and determination throughout the season; and a thankyou also to parents for their continued support.
RESULT(S) for Saturday 24 April 2010. First match Sedlescombe Rangers White 2 Little Common Colts 0; second match Little Common Colts 1 Sedlescombe Rangers White 1. Extremely well-played boys; you've done yourselves proud. Match reports to follow.

This will be a DOUBLE-HEADER where the two teams will play each other twice, one game after the other with a minimum break of 10 minutes between the two matches. The first game will be treated as a HOME game and the second as an AWAY game. The games will last for 30 minutes in total (15 minutes each way) as opposed to the normal 40 minute games (20 minutes each way). This is to ensure that the boys do not play more than the maximum 60 minutes allowed for their age group.
IT WOULD ALSO BE HELPFUL IF PARENTS COULD HELP OUT WITH PUTTING UP AND TAKING THE GOAL-POSTS DOWN. IF EVERYONE CHIPS IN (RATHER THAN LEAVING IT TO THE SAME VOLUNTEERS ALL THE TIME) IT WILL ONLY TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND SPREAD THE BURDEN. MANY THANKS!
Please let Barry know either by phone (01424 853251) or email (banderson2005@tiscali.co.uk) ASAP if your son cannot be there for any reason. Also please keep an eye on the website for updates.

The League have re-arranged the Under 10 Combination Division into two new divisions, the Red and Blue. Sedlescombe Rangers White are now in the Under 10 Blue Division (Sedlescombe Rangers Blue are now in the Under 10 Red Division). The Whites currently lead the Under 10 Blue Division, so there is everything to play for.
RESULT: CUP game, Saturday 14 November: Bexhill Athletic 2 Sedlescombe Rangers White 0. Best team won on the day. We got caught by two early goals in the first-half from which we never quite recovered. However, second half we were much better and made more of a game of it and could well have scored in the dying minutes. Man of the Match: Morgan anderson; Team Player: Kai Thomas-Prause.

1) WHEN WE ARE PLAYING HOME GAMES AT THE SEDLESCOMBE PLAYING FIELD CAN YOU PLEASE NOT PARK ON THE GRASS VERGES OR THE ROAD LEADING UP TO THE FEILD AS THIS NEEDS TO BE KEPT FREE FOR ACCESS FOR THE EMERGENCY SERVICES AND ALSO FOR ACCESS TO PESTALOZZI SCHOOL. IF THE CAR PARK SHOULD BE FULL CAN YOU PLEASE PARK BACK OUT ON THE STREET OR IN SEDLESCOMBE.
Very well done boys against Hastings Rangers. Don't be disappointed by the result (0-2). Everyone played extremely well and created a number of scoring chances from which if luck had been on our side would have probably have led to a couple of goals. Man of the Match: Morgan Anderson; Team Player: (joint) Jacob (JJ) Boast/Adam Sims.
Friendly: Sedlescombe Rangers White 1 Hastings Rangers 1. Excellent game, great result. Goal(s): Matthew Rose 1.
Well-done against Glenco Yellow. Good spirited and sporting game. A draw or better would have been a fairer result than the 3-2 win for Glenco. Man of the Match: Matthew Rose; Team Player: Shaun Stratton. Goals Shaun Stratton 1; Joshua Ruck 1.

Eastbourne Town FC 6-A-Side Tournament Sunday 5 July 2009. Very well done boys on reaching the semi-finals in the Under 9 age group. Absolutely brilliant results - coming top of your particular league (on 14 points) with 4 wins and 2 draws (no losses!). This was a great team effort from all the boys (who all played exceptionally well) against some pretty tough opposition. A special mention should go to William Badrock (Man of the Tournament) for stepping into the goalkeeper role (in Kai's absence) and doing such a magnificent job (as well as keeping a clean sheet for 6 games). I would also like to extend my thanks (as neither Gareth or I could be there) to Steve Gibbs for stepping into the breach at the last minute and doing such a fine job, and also to the parents for their continued encouragement and support of the team.
REMINDER: Parents to note:
************
Man of the Match will aim to recognise the player who has demonstrated the most significant individual effort in that particular game
Team Player will aim to recognise the player who has made the most significant contribution to that particular game in terms of (selfless) influencing of its direction/outcome.
(It will be possible for a player to win both awards).
The winner of the awards will hold on to the trophy until the following week (parents please remember to hand the trophies back to Barry/Gareth at the next game), at which point they will be handed on to the next 'winners'. At the end of the Season the player receiving the most Man of the Match and Team Player awards will get to keep the respective trophy.
The first winners are:
Man of the Match: Adam Sims
Team Player: Morgan Anderson
But a big well done to everyone; all the boys played extremely well.
Parents to note:
1) That commencing this Saturday games will be taking place every week. It is hoped to organise friendlies immediately after League games and/or training depending on whether the team is playing home or away.
2) Match fees will be ?3.00 effective from now. Training at the Sedlescombe ground remains at ?2.00.
3) Players not registered with the ESMML will not be able to take part in League games.
